The Westender is a 75nm overnight race held by Fremantle sailing Club on Saturday 1st May. We started at 6pm, and finshed at 9.30am
the next morning, after surfing some serious swell, and punching back into a 20kt easterly for 6 hours. The course took us
south down Cockburn Sound, out to the ocean via Challenger Passage, before a 25nm tight kite run to a buoy in the middle of nowhere!
Gybe & more running with a 4m following swell, before the tough work home. We picked up 1st on IRC, and 3rd on YAH.
